Position Overview:
As an Assistant Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and executing company standards and merchandising plans within the Bakery Department. You will be assisting the Bakery Manager in driving labor efficiency, sales and gross profit Margins
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Builds and maintains customer satisfaction with the product and services offered by the company.
- Maintain a happy, full, fresh and clean sales floor department
- Order product in partnership or absence of management
- Follow company marketing plan and ensuring product freshness, minimal shrink while optimizing sales
- Build partnership with leadership and discuss opportunities for business growth
- Assist Bakery Manager with inventory management
- Receive product ensuring quality control
- Ensure displayed product is replenished and rotated appropriately
- Offer product samples and suggestions for consumption
- Provide recipe advice to enhance additional sales
- Process product to accent freshness and customer eye appeal
- Ensure pricing is accurate and following company guidelines
- Maintain sales floor, preparation, equipment and storage areas that are clean, orderly and meeting company and health department standards at all times
- Ensure timely and consistent training for new hires, promotions, performance opportunities
- Identify/recommend teammates for higher levels of responsibility
- Recommend/perform corrective steps for below acceptable teammate behaviors on the job in the absence of management
- Schedule personnel to meet customer demands, while maintaining company budgets in the absence of management
- Adhere to all company safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Schedule:
- Weekdays, Weekends & Holidays as needed.
Experience:
- Preferred: One (1) year retail bakery experience
- ServeSafe certification or comparable
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; walking on a variety of flooring such as concrete, tile, carpet etc
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
- Organizational Skills: Ability to fulfill customer orders in a timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
- Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
- Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
