Position Overview:
As an Ice Production Technician you are responsible for operating and maintaining machinery and equipment used in the production of ice. You will be responsible for monitoring the production process, ensuring quality control standards and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding & application of the full ice production cycle
- Ability to properly start up and shutdown ice production equipment while utilizing proper safety procedures.
- Properly set up and perform all functions of the bagging equipment such as installing, loading and positioning, etc.
- Ability to operate and program the bagging machine through the touch screen main menu setup.
- Hands on repair and maintenance work for electromechanical equipment when needed
- Ability to setup, shutdown and maintain printer
- Ensure accuracy of work and adherence to production, attention to detail and safety standards
- Track parts inventory
- Removal of product from conveyor and place on pallet while ensuring structural integrity of the pallet to preserve safety and prevent damage.
- Maneuver pallet on an electric pallet jack until full or until order is complete and then move to proper storage location.
- Daily cleaning of ice room and ice room equipment
- Maintain compliance with hearing protection requirements, follow all work / safety rules and procedures at all times and keep work area clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Experience:
- Preferred but not required– Three (3) years production or mechanical experience – pneumatic based
- Preferred but not required– Pneumatic based technology
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 6:00am - 2:30pm
- Flexibility to work OT based on production needs
Environment:
- Warehouse Perishable/Frozen – approx. -10*F – 55*F
Skills:
- Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs.; standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 8-10 hours daily; working in various temperature controlled environments; the ability to operate required material handling equipment – getting on and off equipment throughout shift
- Strong communication Skills: Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions and solve problems.
- Organizational Skills: Self driven with the ability to multi-task and be able to work with little or no supervision. Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
