POSITION SUMMARY
The Logistics Analyst 1 will be accountable for the daily execution of collecting, interpreting, and analyzing various types of logistics data including availability and reliability of transportation carriers, report generation and escalation, and other data related to support supply chain, sales, and distribution. The right individual will support the company’s vision and customer focus through maintaining logistics databases and tools, managing system applications and efficiently multi-tasking activities in a positive working environment. This rewarding and challenging position will report to the Logistics Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Collects, interprets, and analyzes various types of logistics data including availability of products, reliability of transport and delivery, and other data related to support supply chain, sales, and distribution.
- Maintains database(s) of logistics information.
- Tracks product flow from origin to delivery via web-based logistics systems and other appropriate methods of monitoring inventory and shipment vehicles.
- Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.
- Reviews and analyzes transportation costs, parts procurement and delivery processes, inventory issues such as back orders, and other fulfillment metrics.
- Uses analytic methods and tools to understand, predict, and/or control logistics operations and processes.
- Completes transportation related service requests, quoting, and analysis to support the logistics team’s needs.
- Generating system reports and resolving discrepancies to ensure accurate shipment and invoicing details, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper systems and standard operating procedures are followed.
- Evaluates processes for continuous improvement cost reduction and implements appropriate changes.
- Must be adept at troubleshooting, problem solving and able to deploy appropriate solutions for customer service and sales needs.
- Collaborates with Distribution Management, Logistics, Sales, and Customer Service teams daily.
- Miscellaneous duties include backing up other manager tasks and various project-related functions.
- This role will have the possibility of working across multiple Boelter locations based on company’s needs.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 2-5 years of transportation and logistics experience required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not a requirement.
- Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and communication direction in oral and written methods.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and efficiently complete daily tasks.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to solve problems with a high sense of urgency and customer focus.
- Self-motivated, well organized, and strong time management skills.
- Excellent time management skills with follow-through on commitments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills, experience with SAP, WMS, RFID, Power BI and route systems in a warehouse environment a plus.
