Summary
The Benefits and Compensation Analyst is expected to have detailed knowledge to support compensation and benefits plans and programs, and substantial experience executing related processes and procedures. The person in this role will be a key business partner to corporate and operational business functions, and HR colleagues and will help build and execute the broader strategy for all compensation, benefits, recognition, and wellness programs at Beacon Communities. This role will contribute to the design and implementation of cost-effective compensation, benefit, wellness, and recognition procedures, and ensure practices and programs that are and aligned with Beacon’s culture.
Essential Functions of the Position
- Partner with internal teams to develop rewards, recognition and wellness strategies and plans in support of business goals and objectives.
- Coordinate, and participate in, a variety of research and analysis efforts to ensure programs stay competitive to the market and are cost effective to the organization.
- Lead projects and provide subject matter expertise to the company or function ensuring activities and tasks are completed timely.
- Monitor and analyze the performance of the programs such as benefits claims spend, vendor performance, benefits administration call center, recognition platforms and wellness offerings.
- Ability to track down, understand, and synthesize data from multiple sources like payroll data, benefits data, leave data, 401k data, compensation data, and industry data to respond to internal questions, and develop and implement communication, training for various audiences to promote understanding and transparency of programs, initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Catalyst for generating ideas to improve efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities - a recognized expert in all aspects of rewards processes and systems.
- Provide ongoing support with internal partners on areas of expertise. This includes providing clear explanation of items like leave management, 401k questions and administration.
- Experience administering leaves of absence, worker’s compensation, and 401k, as well as demonstrated experience and knowledge of common compensation practices and programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- 5+ years of Compensation and Benefits experience.
- Effective communication style for interacting with internal customers and external vendors.
- Analysis of compensation and benefits programs to maintain equity, competitiveness, and legal compliance.
- Conducts 401k plan audits, works with benefits and compensation survey information, and prepares ad-hoc reporting.
- Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes, etc.
- Respond to escalated benefit, payroll deduction, billing, and claims inquiries from employees and retirees.
- Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations, HIPAA, ACA, and other relevant benefits and leave compliance knowledge.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, and vendors.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into coherent responses, analyses, and recommendations.
- Advanced MS Excel skills.
- Ability to create and manage complex project plans.
- Able to handle multiple priorities.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality.
