Why this job matters:
We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of the daily routines and procedures of your department. You will focus on learning how the organization runs and completing ad-hoc tasks assigned by your manager.
What you will do:
- Vulnerability Management
- Application Administration
- Application Maintenance
- Ticket Queue Management Perform other tasks as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree or matriculating status from four-year college or university focused in general business, information assurance or cyber security preferably
- Technical Proficiency: Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cybersecurity principles.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and identify patterns or anomalies that could indicate security threats.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulousness in monitoring systems and logs to detect potential security issues.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capability to troubleshoot and resolve security incidents effectively.
- Communication Skills: Clear and concise communication, both written and verbal, to report findings and collaborate with team members.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and security protocols.
- Ethical Judgment: Strong sense of ethics and integrity, especially when handling sensitive information.
- Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and contribute to collective goals.
- Curiosity and Initiative: Eagerness to learn more about cybersecurity and stay updated with the latest trends and threats.
- Time Management: Efficiently managing time and prioritizing tasks to handle multiple responsibilities.
Location:
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
- In-office: onsite 5 days per week
- Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
- Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
