Program Coordinator - ATARP

Job Summary:
The ATARP Coordinator is responsible for clinical services in the form of assessment, plan formulation, case management, and provision of direct services to individuals served by ATARP as well as providing administrative oversight of the ATARP program, a housing first program for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. This position contributes to Bay Cove’s Mission by engaging with individuals served by the ATARP program, and working with them to realize their goal of getting and keeping housing.
This is an exempt position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision of the ATARP Housing Specialist.
Essential Functions of Position:
- Provides clinical services to adults with co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse living in community-based housing.
- Performs comprehensive assessments, coordinates individual action plans (IAP), writes progress notes, enters data, and reviews progress for designated dually-diagnosed individuals according to all requisite standards and regulations
- Carries a caseload and provides an array of services which encourage all persons served to achieve stability, independence, and personal growth
- Conducts support groups for dually-diagnosed individuals.
- Coordinates and schedules tenant’s appointments, i.e. medical, psychiatric, and therapy.
- Provides advocacy and liaison services with the appropriate agencies and resources regarding appointments, consistency of treatment, etc.
- Engages in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, work assignment, supervision, progressive discipline, and performance evaluation in accordance with program and agency policy.
- Carries out tasks related to the day to day operations including staff scheduling, facilitating financial and budgetary procedures (such as petty cash and payroll), and proper implementation of clinical protocols.
- Ensures program compliance with client clinical and housing record requirements ensuring that the housing chart for each individual that meets HUD/DHCD/DMH requirements with assistance from Bay Cove’s housing department.
- Provides crisis assessment, prevention, and needed intervention during the business day.
- Completes other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements for the position:
- BA in psychology or related field
- CADC required, LADC preferred
- Two years direct care experience providing services to adults with mental illness.
- Experience and knowledge of mental health recovery models and practice, including strengths-based work and harm reduction.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and writing substance abuse treatment plans/relapse prevention plans
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and writing IAP documentation according to Medicaid Rehab Option, CARF, and DMH licensing standards.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions.
- Ability to utilize effective crisis intervention techniques

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb stairs and carry up to 40 pounds, as well as the physical capacity to assist people with mobility impairments as needed.
