Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance repairs on facility equipment and property structures in compliance with EPA, Hazmat and OSHA safety rules and regulations.

 

 Schedule:

Sunday - 10am - 6pm, Mon. - Thur. 2pm -10pm


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Carpentry: Performs rough and finished carpentry repair of structures such as partitions, walls, doors, fences, window frames, office furniture, roofs and shelves 
  • Electrical: Performs electrical repair work for switches, outlets, plugs, cables, appliances, and lighting systems; reports unsafe electrical conditions
  • Plumbing: Identifies and performs repairs of plumbing leaks or breaks; opens clogged lines and drains; replaces seals and other minor parts; maintains drinking fountains, replaces, repairs and maintains hot water heaters and other appliances 
  • Painting: Applies and prepares various surfaces of paint, enamel, lacquer, varnish, or stain and repairs wall coverings
  • Repair and make sure all conveyors and elevators are functionable
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment
  • Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them; performing preventive maintenance
  • Set up and tear down chairs, tables and equipment in meetings rooms, and function rooms
  • Take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Requires ability to use general tools
  • Knowledge of the following: carpentry, plumbing, painting, appliance repair, electrical wiring and maintenance of hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Must respond quickly in the event of any emergency, notify appropriate personnel
  • Must have the ability to prioritize work
  • Must be able to follow safety standards
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
Physical Environment/Occupational Risks:
  • Warehouse Environment
  • Performing physical activities that require to stand, walk, lift, bend and other physical abilities
  • Lifting of objects up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent use of hand and power tools
