The Regional Operations Manager’s (ROM) primary responsibilities are customer satisfaction and exceeding the business plan of their regional business units. The primary duties are to provide leadership for the Technical Services teams, to support the sales process, and to develop Technical Services associates. The operational decisions made at this level will be conducted within the business plan, budget, policies, and procedures, all while promoting the core values of the company.

 


 

Job Responsibilities

  • The ROM directly manages the Technical Services Mangers (TSMs) within the region (if applicable, depending upon the size of the operations) and may also manage additional regional or local technical supervisors. This is anywhere up to 10‐15 direct reports
  • Fiscal year plans are prepared and managed, with specific focus on FTE needs, fixed assets, and training expenses necessary for the next fiscal year.
  • Month Revenue and Gross Profit forecasts are prepared and executed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employees, customers, manufacturers and other key partners
  • Planning and scheduling of technical services personnel and projects are managed to keep all personnel working at full chargeability (i.e. all hours and costs are charged out to billable projects or service work).
  • Regular reviews with sales representatives and lead technicians are conducted to determine projects’ status, costs in relation to budgets, review technical issues, and coordinate any timeline changes, change orders or technical issues. Ensure, at a minimum, the following project meetings are taking place and being documented: Prebid, sales to operations, customer kick off, engineering to integration, and customer turnover.
  • Sales calls are made jointly with the sales representatives to promote the sale of engineering, implementation, and service agreements to grow the business.
  • Training for technical services personnel is provided, in accordance with the employee’s personal development plan within their performance goals, to develop and maintain the skills required to provide the highest level of support for products that the company promotes.



Skills and Knowledge Required

 

  • Educational and experience background should consist of leadership, management, business, and technical electronics training or experience.
  • Previous A/V, Broadcast, or Building Systems with IT systems integration, project management, operations management, and service experience are required must possess leadership, managerial, business and financial planning, customer, employee relations and technical skills.
  • The Regional Operations Manager must be able to work independently and be able to make management decisions within the scope of policies, procedures, and budgets of the company.
  • CTS and PMP Certification are preferred, but not required
  • Computer literacy skills and financial budgeting skills are very important to this position
