COR - Corporate - Facilities & Compliance Assistant
Position Description:
Position Summary
At AUI, we are recruiting a Facilities and Compliance Assistant , who will have overall responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of the corporate office. This role will focus on assisting with facilities management, mail handling, and ensuring compliance with current Information Technology Compliance Standards. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and operational support to maintain a well-organized and secure office environment. The job will be at AUI Headquarters in Dunn Loring.
What You Will be Doing:
Facilities Support
- Assist in the maintenance and organization of office facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and functional workspace.
- Coordinate minor repairs and maintenance requests in collaboration with the Corporate Office Manager and external vendors.
- Support the setup and management of office equipment and supplies, ensuring availability for daily operations.
- Assist the Corporate Office Manager with visitor management, including checking in guests, verifying appointments, and providing visitor badges if necessary.
Mail and Correspondence
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and logging packages and correspondence.
- Maintain an accurate record of deliveries and shipments to ensure proper tracking.
Information Technology Compliance Standards Assistance
- Assist the Corporate Office Manager in implementing and maintaining compliance with current Information Technology Compliance Standards requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of compliance-related materials.
- Support adherence to Information Technology Compliance Standards protocols within the office environment, including data protection and secure document handling.
General Administrative Support
- Provide backup administrative assistance to the Corporate Office Manager as needed.
- Assist with coordinating vendor schedules, office meetings, and logistics. Assist Corporate Office Manager with coordinating and managing logistical aspects of on-site meetings, including scheduling, catering arrangements, material preparations, room-based meeting (RBM) system support, ensuring smooth and efficient meetings for team or organization
- Assist the Corporate Office Manager in accounting-related tasks such as data entry, invoice processing, and travel expense voucher processing, ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory requirements.
- Purchasing responsibilities, including preparing and processing purchase orders, invoices, and contracts, as well as communicating with vendors and suppliers.
Work Environment
Work is mission driven, team oriented and typically performed in an office setting within a research or development environment.
Who You Are:
- You have an Highschool Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have a minimum of 2 years of experience in related field
Competency Summary
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic understanding of facilities operations and administrative processes.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial terminology.
- A moderate to high degree of ease with Information Technology.
- Familiarity with Information Technology Compliance Standards and protocols a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Safety Sensitive
The selected candidate must successfully pass a post-offer background check and reference check. Failure to pass the screening will disqualify the candidate from employment consideration for a period of six months from the date of the results.

The starting salary/hourly rate of this position is between $23.07 - $26.25 (per hour). Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include; education, experience, skills, competencies, other qualifications of the successful candidate, as well as internal equity and labor market conditions.
