Human Resources Coordinator
The Human Resources Coordinator will be an integral member of the Human Resources team for a growing organization. Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will be the point person for all Pearlstone matters, providing on the ground assistance to all local in person staff in MD, with the support from the HR Director. You will also provide support to our national team, with support from the HR Director.

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding new employees, maintaining employee records, assisting with payroll, coordinating training, ensuring compliance with employment laws, answering employee questions, and generally supporting the HR department by streamlining processes and facilitating smooth operations across all HR activities.
- Conduct new hire employee orientation and coordinate on-boarding activities and training for new hires at Pearlstone in assistance with the HR Director for all other national and/or remote staff.
- Provide employees with benefit support throughout the year and during our Annual Open Enrollment.
- Recruitment Process:

- Manage the updating of job descriptions and job postings, working in the Dayforce system.

- Support our supervisors in the interview process.

- Manage onboarding and off boarding procedures.
- Support the HR Director in Employee relations issues including disciplinary action such as:

- Sitting in on difficult conversations, taking notes during meetings, etc.

- Assistance with writing up Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) or any disciplinary procedures.

- Assisting with investigations, when appropriate.
- Develop and oversee staff development and training programs, help with coordinating the logistics.
- Assist the HR Director with Org Wide components of our work such as the Annual Performance Evaluation Process, editing and updating our Organizational Playbook, setting up Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions with the CEO, and coordinating monthly staff lunches on site at Pearlstone.
- Ability to assist with payroll processing and employee time and attendance tracking. Adamah utilizes Dayforce; can be taught.
- Administration duties, i.e. saving employee personnel files on site, reviewing mail pertaining to staff issues, forwarding tax and IRS documents to the finance and payroll team, etc.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing best practices in the HR field.
- With multiple priorities, you will have additional responsibilities in areas requiring administrative work, utilizing organizational skills, project management, and time management.
Skills and Experience:
- 2-5 years of HR experience. Experience working in Jewish Nonprofits ideal, but not necessary.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently; must be detail oriented.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in administrative roles with a focus on office management.
- Ability to plan and coordinate events effectively.
- Ability to manage and work with sensitive information and documents.
- Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Teams, but not necessary.
General:
- Attend weekly department meetings.
- Attend monthly all-staff meetings.
- Attend monthly in person Pearlstone experiences.
- Must possess a solid work ethic with strong organizational and time-management skills, excellent attention to detail, professional verbal, and written communication skills in English, as well as provide excellent customer service.
- Must maintain a professional demeanor.
- Must be able to adapt to changing situations.
Working Conditions:
This is an exempt position with work hours set to Monday-Friday, in the Human Resources office at the Pearlstone Conference and Retreat Center. This is a hybrid position with an expectation for this individual to be onsite at Pearlstone an average of 2-3 days per week.

90 Day Check In: Ninety days from the date of employment date, there will be a check in between you and your supervisor. Annually thereafter.
