About the Organization

At Adamah, we believe in the deep connection between people and planet, adam and adamah. Every day, we help people feel that connection, spark Jewish inspiration, and help build a more sustainable future for all. And because we are the link between our ancestors and our descendants, our generation is called to respond to the existential crises of our time with the full power of the Jewish spirit. Our mission is to cultivate vibrant Jewish life in deep connection with the earth, catalyzing culture change and systemic change through immersive experiences, Jewish environmental education, leadership development, and climate action.

Adamah is the largest Jewish environmental organization in North America, leading a burgeoning movement across Jewish life. This year, Adamah will impact over 32,000 participants at our two immersive campuses—Pearlstone and Isabella Freedman—and through national programs amplified in our five community impact hubs in New York, Detroit, Baltimore, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. Through our Peoplehood & Planethood work, Adamah leverages its core activities as powerful catalysts for people-to-people connections, strengthening Israel-Diaspora relationships by mobilizing a global Jewish response to our planetary crisis.

About Adamah’s Climate Action Work

Adamah’s Climate Action work is dedicated to mobilizing resources, empowering sustainability, and advancing climate action within Jewish communities across the nation. Rooted in Jewish community, the Climate Action team supports projects that address the climate crisis, foster environmental stewardship, and promote social equity through measurable reductions in emissions.

Adamah’s Jewish Climate Leadership Coalition is a network of Jewish organizations who recognize the existential threat and moral urgency of climate change and commit to their own climate action plans. Adamah educates and empowers Coalition members through learning sessions, resource guides, and communities of practice, and provides financing for emission reduction projects through its national Climate Action Fund. As of December 2024, over 400 Jewish organizations have joined the Coalition, representing an unprecedented mobilization and collective Jewish response to the climate crisis. This new position will focus on securing new and increased philanthropic support for climate action in Jewish communities, enabling dramatic growth in both our impact and resource development.
