Maintenance Repairman

SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, the repairman is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of the JCC buildings, and the machinery and equipment located at the JCC buildings.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Repair and complete maintenance tasks required on the machinery, buildings, grounds, and equipment on a regular basis.
- Review facilities and grounds and notify supervisor of repairs and maintenance needs.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in proper working order.
- Keep the maintenance area and workshop clean and store all equipment and tools when work has been completed.
- Complete work orders as directed by your supervisor and forward all paperwork to the Maintenance Supervisor after completion.
- Work cooperatively and communicate with JCC staff regarding when work will be performed, and jobs are completed.
- Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Assist in facilities set-up and breakdowns with housekeeping as needed.
- Complete painting and cleaning tasks as assigned.
- Participate in agency training, staff meetings, and agency-wide events as required.
- Follow all agency and department policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Demonstrated ability to perform repairs and maintenance on machinery, buildings, equipment, and grounds without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand building plans and schematic drawings.
- High School diploma
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the carpentry, painting, HVAC, mechanical and/or electrical maintenance field.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; sit; use hand to handle objects, tools, or controls ; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. The employee will regularly work on ladders and lifts.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Salary (or Salary Range): $ 20 - $25 per hour
