Manager, Insight Israel Forum

 

The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking an entrepreneurial, strategic and creative Manager to lead the Insight Israel Forum (IIF), a bold and innovative strategy for Baltimore Jewish leaders to engage in respectful discourse about the nuances of Israel.  

 

Organization Overview

The Associated is recognized as one of the top Jewish community organizations in North America and a national leader within the Jewish Federation system. The Associated ensures the delivery of community services to the Baltimore Jewish community, the people of Israel, and Jewish communities around the world. The Associated builds community with its network of nonprofits. It provides community security, fights antisemitism, delivers essential humanitarian services, creates meaningful Jewish engagement opportunities and connects Jewish Baltimore with Israel, Jewish communities around the world and the greater Baltimore community.

 

Position Overview:

Baltimore Jewish community leaders are grappling with the complexities and changing conversations about Israel and how Israel factors into their Jewish identity, social activism, and conscience.  These issues have experienced dramatic shifts over the last decade or more, particularly since October 7, 2023.

 

The Insight Israel Forum provides a communal space for Jewish community leaders to learn, experience, dialogue and engage with Israel as Jews and Americans. The Forum engages individual leaders with diverse perspectives and ensures that they are exposed to a broad expanse of ideas, frameworks and viewpoints on Israel’s present and future.  It offers and facilitates opportunities for leaders to deepen and enhance their understanding of Israel, and to strengthen their ability to have respectful conversation about Israel.


What you'll do:

  • Lead IIF strategy by developing relevant and sophisticated opportunities to grapple with current issues relating to Israel
  • Work in partnership with lay leadership to develop strategy for IIF
  • Implement Forum programming with excellence
  • Manage the Insight Israel Forum budget
  • Develop a marketing strategy for the Insight Israel Forum
  • Establish evaluative measures and effectively communicate the opportunities and success of the Forum
  • Collaborate with The Associated’s Israel and Global team, The Associated’s agencies and synagogues to engage leaders in Israel dialogue opportunities
  • Task supervise the Israel Recruiter on specific IIF programming and logistics

 

What we're looking for:

  • Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with a wide variety of people
  • Strong knowledge of Israel including nuances of current issues and familiarity with potential speakers
  • Creativity in developing programming and strategy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and to forge partnerships
  • Ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong political savviness
  • Ability to lead with excellence and be receptive to feedback from stakeholders

 

You also have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of work-related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms

 

Salary Range: $69,000-$77,000; commensurate with experience.
