Join Our Team as a Loan Program Manager!

 

Are you passionate about community development and helping individuals achieve their housing goals? CHAI: Comprehensive Housing Assistance, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Loan Program Manager (LPM) to oversee our impactful loan programs: the Energy Savings Loan, Home Improvement Loan, and Homebuyer Assistance Loan. As the LPM, you will oversee the entire loan lifecycle—from application to post-closing—while ensuring compliance, providing exceptional borrower experiences, and driving program growth. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the NW Baltimore community while working with a dedicated and collaborative team.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Origination and Underwriting

  • Process and evaluate loan applications
  • Verify documentation accuracy and completeness
  • Oversee underwriting with Housing Committee coordination
  • Steward borrowers through application process

 

Loan Closing and Servicing

  • Conduct loan closings and file Deeds of Trust
  • Initiate and monitor ACH payments
  • Follow-up on payment issues and manage delinquent loans 
  • Disburse funds and enforce loan usage timelines
  • Process post-settlement requests for subordination, payoff, forbearance, verification of mortgage, and Certificate of Satisfaction
  • Collaborate with accounting team on escrow requests, vendor payments, and annual audit

 

Administration

  • Review and update loan documents with legal counsel
  • Manage document systems for secure loan handling
  • Perform quality checks for complete loan files
  • Promote loan programs and build community partnerships
  • Automate processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in loan origination, servicing, and reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to market the program effectively

 

Compliance and Reporting

  • Ensure regulatory and funding compliance
  • Maintain accurate loan records in system databases
  • Generate performance reports (loan volume, growth, delinquencies)

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a housing related field; mortgage experience a plus
  • Knowledge of and competence with computers and Microsoft 365 application programs
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending, underwriting, and real estate transactions preferred
  • Effective communication with clients and housing professionals: lenders, realtors & title attorneys
  • Good organizational and math skills
  • Able to prioritize assignments to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation

Compensation & Benefits

$70,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience
