Payroll Associate
The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore is seeking a Payroll Associate to join our Finance Department. Our ideal candidate is someone well-rounded and organized who can seamlessly handle the core Payroll responsibilities of this role (multiple payrolls for our agencies, payroll reporting, pledge reporting, journal entries, tax deposit reports and 941’s) while also being approachable, detail-oriented, and resourceful. This is a hybrid position working at our Baltimore office.
In this highly collaborative role, you will use your expertise in payroll and finance and be responsible for:
- Bi-weekly processing and in-depth review of payroll for several agencies. Assists other processors with other payrolls, as needed.
- Ensuring all time sheets and time away request records are correct and authorized. Communicates with supervisors as needed.
- Providing customer support for employees and managers as needed, including password resets, timesheet issues and entitlement balances.
- Providing monthly agencies’ reports for all payrolls to agencies, accountants, and Donor Center, maintains journal entries for some reports.
- Downloading/maintaining quarterly and annual 941 tax reports for all payrolls.
- Downloading GL reports from Dayforce.

Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of proven experience as a Payroll Professional.
- High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Understanding of general payroll practices, procedures, and employment/labor laws.
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is preferred.
- Ability to exercise discretion and a very high level of confidentiality with sensitive information is required to be successful in this position.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple deadlines and priorities is required.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in a team setting is required.
Compensation
Salary Range: $51,000-$56,000 annually; salary commensurate with experience.
