ASRC Federal Communications is seeking an Electrical Administrator for our ISS2 contract supporting our US Air Force customer.

This position is located at the Project Headquarters in Anchorage, AK. This position plays a critical role in overseeing and managing all aspects of electrical operations within ASRC Communications, Ltd (ASRCC). Ensures that all electrical projects, including HVAC and solar installations, are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations. The Electrical Administrator is responsible for project management, safety compliance, technical support, documentation, and team leadership.

Tasks & Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage electrical project to include HVAC and solar installations.• Coordinate pre-construction electrical activities, to include planning, cost estimates, scope of work and scheduling.• Work closely with other construction trades in order to ensure coordinated project activities and timely completions.• Provide cost estimates for materials and services for job proposals.• Ensure all projects are executed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality and safety standards.• Work directly with project managers, engineers and electricians to develop detailed project plans.• Ensure all electrical work adheres to local, state and national electric codes and standards.• Conduct electrical assessments and inspection activities.• Provide technical support and guidance to installation crews.• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues in collaboration with Electrical Lead.• Stay informed about the latest advancements and trends in the electrical, HVAC and solar industries.• Maintain detailed records of electrical work, including blueprints and project documentation.• Ensure that all customer needs are met in a timely manner with tailored solutions.• Address and resolve customer concerns and/or issues with electrical installations.• Foster a collaborative, positive and productive work environment.• Attend meetings, conferences and events as designated by supervisor.• Assist with recruitment and hiring activities through HR for electricians.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, integrity, respect for confidentiality, sound judgment and decision-making skills.• Complete understanding of the skills required for all lower classifications.• Must have strong time management skills.• Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly.• Willing and able to multi-task.• Ability to take initiative to identify and propose new tasks and procedures.• Ability to perform detailed work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple, concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.• Knowledge of relevant regulations, policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure environment and safety standards, including occupational hazards and safety precautions, industry standard practices and procedures involved in building and modernization efforts.• Ability to interpret technical plans, specifications, blueprints and drawings and apply design techniques, tools, and principles involved for production.• Ability to make sound decisions in developing, preparing, proposing and executing construction projects/plans.• Knowledge of planning, developing and monitoring construction project budgets specific to electrical work/activities.•

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Electrical Administrator’s license with the State of Alaska and a Journeyman’s certification active in the State of Alaska.
  • Ten years progressive experience in electrical work with a preferred focus on HVAC and solar, which includes at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to represent ASRCC in the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively to remote areas, including extended and overnight travel, in performing functions of this position regardless of the time of year. Must be able to travel in small aircraft and must be able to travel up to approximately 25-35% of position time.
  • Capable of effectively working with a variety of personalities
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Preferred:

  • Four-year degree electrical engineering or similar
  • Six years progressive experience in electrical work in remote Alaska

Physical Demands: During site visits/inspections, frequently climb ladders, some crawling and crouching, frequent long periods of walking and standing. Requires good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination. Ability to work long days/hours and in remote areas and in inclement weather conditions.
