Executive Assistant - NASA
The primary responsibility for this position will be to assist a government office with administrative and coordination tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provides coordination support to high-level leadership including coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
- This involves working closely with the Mission Directorate office and other high level senior officials to coordinate activities.
- Proactively engages in planning administrative and logistics support for designated meetings, launches and high level events.This includes planning of mission directorate level events, training, workshops, and lunch and learns. Assist the ESDMD Executive Officer and Chief of Staff with the management and tracking of administrative actions, communications, maintenance of the ESDMD Implementation Plan, and tracking budget and expenditures for Front Office acquisitions (i.e. IT accessories, training, etc.).
- Support calendar management, travel orders and processing, and other logistical support. May perform other related administrative and coordination tasks in support of customer activities. Works independently with limited supervision to successfully plan, organize, and implement support activities.
- Serves as an interface with staff to coordinate deliverables and actions. Assist in providing project analysis and administrative support, including the integration of various inputs and data sets, producing and maintaining schedules, tracking deliverables and processes
- Additional projects will involve coordinating issues with government and international personnel.
Please note: Executives travel frequently, so this position may be filled at NASA Headquarters (HQ) or NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC). It is anticipated to be full time onsite, and will require occasional travel to NASA HQ or JSC depending on customer needs.
Desired Skills
- Previous experience in the government or aerospace industry will be viewed favorably. Previous experience with Concur Government Edition (CGE) is also beneficial.
- Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products is critical, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using website applications to coordinate activities, store files, and enter data as needed. Experience with SharePoint is preferred.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
- The individual will be expected to learn general information about the major projects of the office and key terminology. A proactive and flexible demeanor is greatly preferred, in order to successfully support this dynamic, high-profile office.
- Obtaining a secret clearance may be required.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree
- NASA experience preferred
- 15 years of experience preferred
