ASRC Federal is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity System Engineer

Lead to our team in support of the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) in Hanover, MD.

This is primarily a Telework position with a requirement to be onsite at least one (1) day a week in Hanover MD.

 

Job Description:

As the Cybersecurity Engineering Lead, you will be at the forefront of managing and leading the Cybersecurity Engineering Team who supports the Security Operation Center. You will play a critical role in incident response, security tool deployment, sustainment, maintenance, administration, and vulnerability management, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of information assets. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers and provide guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy that aligns with the organization's overall security goals and objectives.

 

Security Systems and Infrastructure:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security systems/tools/technologies supporting infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of all systems, networks, and data.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

Candidates should demonstrate a detailed knowledge the following: 

  • Subject Matter Expert in multiple Cyber Defense Operations toolsets e.g., Elastic SIEM or Swimlane SOAR, HBSS/ESS, ACAS, Crowdstrike, ThreatQuotient, Burp Enterprise, SonarCube, Trellix, RHEL, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Ansible.
  • Leading and managing a Cyber Support Engineering team, providing direction and guidance in executing cybersecurity tasks and projects. 
  • Overseeing the administration and maintenance of cybersecurity-related tools, ensuring compliance with DoD/DCSA Cyber standards. 
  • Providing timely and accurate status updates to stakeholders, along with recommended resolutions for system engineering problem sets.

  • Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and Linux shell scripting to automate tasks and enhance system security.
  • Excellent with identifying problems and providing sound resolution
  • Effective communication, documentations, and building team cohesion

 

 

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with security systems and infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Very strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Cloud certifications or experience (AWS)
  • Swimlane Certified SOAR Administrator (SCSA)
  • Swimlane Certified SOAR Developer (SCSD)
  • Proven experience deploying and supporting Swimlane
  • Linux server administration
  • DevSecOps experience

 

 

Requirements:

YEARS EXPERIENCE:

At least 8 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership/manager role.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

 

CERTIFICAITON(S):

DoDM 8140/DoDM 8570.01-M IAT Level III

CSSP Manager is preferred

 

CLEARANCE LEVEL:

Active TS required

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 

If alternate worksite is other than DCSA facilities or corporate office space, must have the reliable ability to communicate over voice (cell phone preferred) and stable, capable internet connection.

 

Must speak English well enough to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse customer both verbally and in written form.

Salary Transparency Statement:

This position is offering a pay range of $116,167.52 - $186,596.80 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and factors permitted by law.
