Application Engineer (APEX and Cognos) - Hybrid
ASRC Federal is seeking an Applications Engineer (APEX and Cognos) to work with our IT Team in support of our contract with the Drug Enforcement Agency's Diversion Control Division. Position is located in Sterling, VA.
Work arrangement: Hybrid (must be flexible to work onsite at least 2x a week)
Clearance: Position requires a Public Trust and successfully completion of a DEA background investigation.
Summary: An administrator/engineer role for managing Cognos, Apex, and Oracle Report applications, in terms of installation, patching, troubleshooting, as well as performance tuning.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, upgrade Cognos and patch deployment in DEV, TEST and PROD environments for Cognos 11.1.4/11.2.1/11.2.4 (Linux).
• Assist the development team with code upgrades, migration, troubleshooting, exploring, and testing new features of Cognos.
• Support Cognos operation and administration request.
• Work with Oracle Database Administrators to install, configure and upgrade APEX and ORDS 23.2.
• Provide APEX user administration support for the development team.
• Install, configure, upgrade WebLogic, deploy Oracle CPU for WebLogic and trusted SSL certificate renewal.
• Install, configure, upgrade, and patch deployments of Oracle Reports, version 12.2.1.19.
• Monitor application performance and resource usage for Oracle Reports, version 12.2.1.19.
Requirements:
- BS/BA in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related discipline is required.
- Minimum of six (6) years relevant experience in the field.
- Experience with WebLogic, APEX and Cognos.
- Desired certifications: AWS Cloud certification(s) and/or other relevant certification(s).
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, team members and outside vendors regarding application operations and management are required.
- Government contract requirements state must be a US Citizen. Successfully complete a government issued background investigation, including obtaining a Public Trust Clearance.
Desired Skills:
- Migrate on-prem applications to cloud environment, such as AWS.
- Knowledge of DataStage 11.7.1.4 administration stand-alone or in a containerized architecture.
- Ability to learn or knowledge of IBM Infosphere Information Server and DataStage installation, configuration in on-prem and in a cloud environment with troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Familiar with the installation, configuration, and upgrade support for Esri ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1.0 administration.
