Remote Test Lead Cyber Security Engineer SME III
ASRC Federal Netcentric Technology is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented remote Cybersecurity Test Lead to support testing services for cybersecurity tools and measures within the DMDC environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing the impact of security tools on the stability and operation of networks and computing systems, while minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth integration into the production environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee testing operations to ensure all cybersecurity tools and configurations meet functional and compliance standards. Conduct independent testing of cybersecurity tools to evaluate their impact on DHRA networks and systems, ensuring secure and stable integration. Evaluate deployment impacts of cybersecurity tools on DHRA networks and computing environments, identifying and mitigating potential operational risks.
- Test updates and modifications to verify compliance with requirements, maintain optimal system performance, and prepare detailed analyses of results, including findings and recommendations (Go/Go with Conditions/No Go) for stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for formal testing programs, including test plans, reports, and government approval processes.
- Integrate testing provisions into project requirements, designs, and schedules, ensuring alignment with project goals. Establish a project management program for tool upgrades and new deployments, covering planning, costing, and governance adherence to DHRA standards.
- Work with Cybersecurity Service Delivery (CSD) to identify trends affecting service availability and submit metrics for business process improvement. Collaborate with Technical Services (TS) to ensure testing protocols and tools align with established methodologies, maintaining consistency and reliability.
- Lead a team in developing and executing test scripts, system integration, and tool evaluations, ensuring efficient coordination and productivity.
- Perform verification activities, including inspections, peer reviews, audits, walkthroughs, and simulations, to validate product performance. Manage a repository documenting testing activities, including changes, affected systems, and rollback plans when no test environment is available.
- Provide feedback on system configuration and performance testing to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Utilize automated testing tools for robust analysis, documentation, and reporting, while maintaining a data visualization portal to track results and performance trends, facilitating informed decision-making. Conduct trend analyses to identify patterns in testing outcomes and enhance service reliability.
- Provide 24/7 rotational telephonic engineering support to troubleshoot network outages and ensure minimal downtime during testing phases.

- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent additional experience).
- 8+ years of professional experience in information technology with 4+ years of specialized experience in cybersecurity testing or related roles.
- Current Active Secret Clearance (required).
- Hands-on experience with testing methodologies, automated tools, and security analysis techniques. Conducting tests in high-security environments while ensuring compliance with government cybersecurity standards.
- Proficiency with cybersecurity tools, including:
- Trellix/ESS
- Tanium
- Microsoft Defender Endpoint
- BeyondTrust
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of cybersecurity tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and trends to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Proven project management skills to manage testing programs, schedules, and resource planning.

Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience with Ansible or comparable automation tools for configuration management, scripting, and deployment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Project for scheduling tasks, tracking progress, and managing overall project timelines.
- Proven expertise in developing comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for effective cybersecurity testing processes.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Change Control Board (CCB) submission processes, including governance and compliance protocols.
