Primary Responsibilities:

The Market Controller is expected to:

  • Protect the legal, financial and moral well being of the Larry H. Miller Automotive Group;
  • Support the overall accounting functions in the dealerships;
  • Perform internal audits;
  • Be a teacher to support the efforts of other employees to be successful;
  • Seek ways to improve business operations efficiencies and customer service.

 

Reports to: Regional Controller and Regional Operations Manager

 

Primary Duties:

  1. Support and train dealership accounting staff in all areas accounting.
    1. Assist in developing and training employees in Accounting Standards.
    2. Provide accounting guidance to Dealership Accounting Offices.
    3. Assist to communicate and enforce dealership and Miller Automotive Operations policies and procedures.

 

  1. Perform Internal Audits and report findings.
    1. Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
    2. Review financial data to ensure that it is compiled and that financial records are kept properly.
    3. Compile statistical, financial, accounting and auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
    4. Reconcile, note and report discrepancies found in records.

Job Qualifications:

  • 4 + years of accounting experience. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting desirable.
  • 2 + years office management experience.
  • Strong ledger, accounting, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, such as CDK, UKG, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of Larry H. Miller Dealerships’ current company management systems desirable.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. HR experience desirable.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Communication skills.
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work performed in office and dealership settings.  
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach and move about facilities.
  • To perform other duties as required by Dealership Controller and Regional Operations Manager
