Summary
This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supply chain management and operations by analyzing inventory and order data. You will assist in evaluating the frequency of parts received from various manufacturing departments, analyzing batch sizes, and optimizing inventory flow. Your insights will help streamline operations and improve overall efficiency.
Key Projects
Analyze Part Frequency:
- Review and analyze the frequency of parts received from manufacturing departments.
- Assess how often specific parts are ordered and their impact on inventory levels.
Batch Size Analysis:
- Evaluate batch sizes for parts incoming and outgoing from various departments.
- Analyze demand patterns and inventory flow to determine optimal batch sizes.
Inventory Flow Efficiency:
- Assess the efficiency of inventory flow based on order frequency and batch sizes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline inventory processes and reduce handling times.
Optimal Batch Size Determination:
- Develop recommendations for optimal batch sizes to minimize handling and counting.
- Propose strategies to reduce the number of touches and streamline inventory management.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare reports and documentation on findings and recommendations.
- Present data insights to the Supply Chain/Operations team for review and action.
Requirements
Education:
- Must be pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or related field.
Physical:
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and reach overhead.
- Must be able to lift to 25lbs occasionally.
