Summary:


As an Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO) Process Engineer, you will be responsible for technical support & sustaining engineering for the processes of manufacturing and/or assembly of the products assigned. You should be able to analyze and solve problems from basic engineering principles theories and concepts through a wide range of complex and advanced problems and approve assembly instructions prior to release to production. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high technology, manufacturing environment and works well in a matrix structure across all levels of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 

  • Works independently or with others to document processes for manufacturing of components or assembly of connectors/cable assemblies/harnesses for Amphenol Industrial products.
  • Learn Core product knowledge from Product Marketing team, other Process Engineers and Design Engineers on site.
  • Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet Quality System requirements, validating or overseeing the validation of processes as they are developed
  • Reviews and amends bills of materials from a process of manufacturing/assembly perspective and provides support for other departments as required with respect to bills of materials.
  • Responsible for development and accuracy for work instructions on new product introduction.
  • Participate in Engineering Change Notification (ECN) by creating requests or review/approve notifications under work.
  • May work with outside Engineering Services or suppliers with their daily work or to support other departments.
  • May lead support staff in NPI developments and builds of connectors, cable assemblies or harnesses.
  • Executes Time Studies on products and reviews adjustments to current time standards with Manufacturing/Assembly and Product Marketing teams prior to adjustment.

  • Teamwork – will be required to work within multiple different teams to fulfill Design Engineering requirements on more than one project at the same time.

  • Planning/Organizing – Prioritizes and plans work activities. Uses time efficiently. Plans for additional resources. Sets goals and objectives. Develops realistic action plans.
  • Adaptability - Changes approach or method to best fit the situation. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Proactive attitude - Must be willing to receive assignments on new projects or designs and communicate with the direct supervisor to confirm priorities when necessary.
  • Will at times visit customers with Salesperson or Business Development team member as required.

 

Qualifications – Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), BSEE degree or equivalent from an accredited College or University or minimum of three years related experience.
  • Hi mix/low volume manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Proficient Solidworks software experience is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail & time management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
