SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting Alliant's mid-market absence and disability  program – Alliant Leave Advantage (ALA). This includes collaborating with Employee Benefit Brokers/Consultants on the development and execution of client centered strategies pertaining to absence and disability, including leave compliance and administration, as well as with participating insurance carriers. Manages book of business and directs the work of a multi-disciplined internal service team, including Account Managers, Absence and Disability  Consultants and Leave Compliance Consultants. Collaborates with the core Alliant employee benefits service team, as well as key contacts from participating insurance carriers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Exhibits proven competence in all Client Manager duties and knowledge requirements;

 

  • Acts as the lead representative on Alliant’s ALA mid-market book of business

 

  • Provide educational support to internal account teams and sales and marketing support to Alliant sales professionals on absence and disability consulting, including leave administration solutions, federal, state, and local leave law mandates, and benefit technology systems as applicable

 

  • Provide general Q&A support as needed for ALA clients.

 

  • Establishes multi-year strategic plan development and presents to client;

 

  • Strategically guides the client and or Account team through decision making process relevant to ALA, including but not limited to placement of STD and LTD lines of coverage, leave administration support services, and other issues as applicable to the ALA service model;

 

  • Maintains ownership of all client deliverables by the ALA service team;

 

  • Maintains and drives client calendars for the ALA service team and coordinates calendars with the Alliant EB core service team

 

  • Leads the ALA service team and collaborates with the Alliant EB core service team in execution of strategic plan, renewal or marketing related to STD, LTD, and leave administration services with carrier partners;

 

  • Manages and mentors a team effectively, inspires collaboration, team performance and camaraderie;

 

  • Understands intricacies and differences among the ALA carrier partners

 

  • Participates in team selling process including finalist interviews and RFP responses pursuant to certain engagement protocol based on type of opportunity;

 

  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge in absence, disability and leave administration landscape, including ALA insurance carrier offerings, other stakeholders in the market, key compliance issues, and the role of benefits technology.

 

  • Serves as a technical expert, assisting department members to resolve complex issues;

 

  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience  

Eight (8) or more years related work experience  

Valid insurance license 

Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal

 

SKILLS

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Good problem solving and time management skills

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork

Good planning, organizational and prioritization skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
