We are looking for a dedicated, experienced, and innovative Highway Engineer to join our Highway Department. As the Highway Engineer, you will oversee all local road and bridge engineering and construction programs, ensuring that our roads, bridges, and transportation systems are designed, built, and maintained to the highest standards. You’ll also represent the Highway Department in planning groups, forums, and with INDOT on Federal Aid projects, meaning your expertise and leadership will be critical in shaping our county’s future.

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Leading the Engineering and Technical Services divisions with confidence and expertise.
  • Managing Federal Aid programs and acting as the main point of contact with INDOT.
  • Overseeing right-of-way acquisitions, utility coordination, construction, and inspection activities.
  • Representing Allen County in discussions with developers, business owners, and the community.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 5 years of experience in roadway design and construction.
  • A licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana.
  • Strong management skills with a keen understanding of civil engineering related to roads, bridges, and transportation.
  • Passion for leadership, collaboration, and communication.
