Substance Abuse and Mental Health Svcs Admin Grant Project Manager
Position Summary:
The project manager of the SAMHSA grant will report to the Director of Counseling Services/Vice President of Student and Campus Life. Primary responsibilities will be to manage the grant by providing all updates, assessments and required paperwork, serve as a point of contact for community stakeholders and provide oversight of all programming and outreach efforts of the Center. This person will oversee student interns and mental health screening days; depression (October), eating disorders (Feb) and Drug and Alcohol (April). The successful candidate should have a comfort level with social media and the Microsoft Suite including Excel and some experience with statistical analysis. Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to enhancing equity and inclusion within the team and across a culturally diverse campus while celebrating people of all statuses and identities. This is a short term, part time (25 hours per week) professional position that ends on Sept 30 and does not include benefits. The project manager will be required to work some evenings and an occasional weekend.
Essential Job Functions:
General Responsibilities
- Data analysis and synthesis
- Comprehensive understanding of mental illness and mental health
- Planning and Organizational skills

- Provide leadership on campus wide events and workshops
- Other responsibilities as designated by the Director of Counseling Service
Programming
- Oversight of Peer Educators to provide psychoeducational programming
- Create informational programming for faculty, staff and students to increase awareness
- of mental illness
- Provide direct oversight of three screening days depression (October), eating disorders (February) and Drug and Alcohol awareness (April).
- Ability to provide trainings that introduce the services of the counseling center to various counseling constituencies including but not limited to residential living, tutoring, public safety, student success specialists, FYS courses and sports teams.
- Provide innovative campus wide and residential mental health programming
- Coordinate speakers on mental health issues
Grant Management
- Manage all of the reports for the SAMHSA grant.
- Create and implement the assessments needed to meet the requirements of the grant
- Capacity to assess impact of programming and provide quantitative and qualitative results
- Cultivation of committee of community stakeholders
- Ability to run student mental health groups
- Ability to respond to the reporting requirements of the grant
Qualifications/Prerequisites:
1. COMMUNICATION
- Strong communication skills required, both oral and written
- Ability to work and interact with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and parents
- Must be team oriented and show flexibility with work
- Ability to present complex information to a broad spectrum of audiences
- Excellent presentational skills
- Quality report writing skills
2. SKILLS
- Knowledge of general business and office processes, computer and software operation such as Windows, Excel, Microsoft Office, and database programs, etc.
- Knowledge general policies and procedures relating to higher education and student affairs
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to present complex information to a
- Strong attention to detail required
- Must be able to work autonomously and take initiative with projects

2. EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE
- One to three years of fulltime work experience in mental health services
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Supervisory experience (student or professional).
4. EDUCATION
- MA/MS in mental health counseling, social work, clinical or counseling psychology or a related field. Exceptional candidates will be considered if they are currently in a Master’s program for counseling, student affairs or a related field.
5. LICENSES
- License preferred but not mandatory
