Albright College is seeking an Assistant Registrar or Associate Registrar, depending on experience, to join the Office of the Registrar. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate student academic records, assisting with the registration process, and supporting degree completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, a positive attitude when interacting with students, core commitment to stakeholder service, and a willingness to be trained on core systems related to the job. Additionally, candidates with Spanish language proficiency are encouraged to apply, as this is preferred for providing support to a diverse student body. Key Responsibilities:

  • Academic Records Management:
    • Assist in the maintenance, update, and accuracy of student academic records in the College’s student information system (SIS).
    • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and security of academic records in compliance with FERPA and institutional policies.
    • Process student transcripts, verifications, degree audits, and other official academic documents.
  • Registration Support:
    • Assist with the planning, implementation, and administration of the registration process, including course scheduling, registration periods, and class capacity management.
    • Serve as a resource for students, faculty, and staff regarding course registration, academic deadlines, and policy interpretations.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve registration issues, including overrides, holds, and class schedule conflicts.
  • Degree Audits and Graduation:
    • Support the preparation of degree audits and ensure students meet all graduation requirements.
    • Assist in the processing of graduation applications, verifying eligibility, and preparing lists of candidates for graduation.
    • Maintain and update degree audit tools and reports to assist in timely graduation processing.
  • Advising and Support:
    • Serve as a point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding academic records and registration inquiries.
    • Assist in the training of new staff, faculty, and students on the use of the SIS and other related systems.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations related to academic records, student data, and enrollment.
    • Assist with the preparation and submission of institutional reports, including enrollment statistics, graduation rates, and other regulatory or institutional reporting requirements.
  • Special Projects and Administrative Support:
    • Participate in departmental projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes, policies, and technology within the Office of the Registrar.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Registrar.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field such as Higher Education Administration, Business, or Information Systems.
    • At least 2 years of experience in a higher education setting, preferably in a Registrar’s office or related administrative role. Consideration may be given for less experience if the candidate demonstrates exceptional skills and potential for growth.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of student records management and academic policies.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and a willingness to be trained on core systems related to academic records management and student registration.
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling student data and records.
    • Positive and professional attitude when working with students, faculty, and staff.
    • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines, particularly during peak periods (e.g., registration, graduation).
    • Spanish language proficiency is preferred to better serve and communicate with a diverse student body.
