Position Overview:
As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching in-person undergraduate courses in psychology:
- General Psychology
- Research Methods in Psychology
- Biopsychology
- Cognitive Psychology
- Psychopathology
The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the department’s curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
- Develop and deliver engaging course materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments that promote critical thinking and application of psychological concepts.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress.
- Maintain office hours to provide academic support and mentorship to students, addressing their individual learning needs and challenges.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to curriculum development as needed.
- Stay current with developments in the field of psychology and incorporate relevant findings into the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Psychology; however, applicants who are ABD or possess a Master’s degree with relevant teaching experience will also be considered.
- Prior experience as an adjunct instructor is essential, demonstrating a successful track record of teaching and engaging students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse student population.
- A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that respects and values diversity.
- Fluency in Spanish, preferred
