Albright College, a vibrant liberal arts institution located in Reading, Pennsylvania, invites applications for multiple Adjunct Faculty positions in the Psychology Department. We are seeking dynamic, passionate, and dedicated educators to join our team for the upcoming academic term. Position Overview:
As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching in-person undergraduate courses in psychology:

  • General Psychology
  • Research Methods in Psychology
  • Biopsychology
  • Cognitive Psychology
  • Psychopathology

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with the department’s curriculum, ensuring alignment with educational goals.
  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials, including lectures, assignments, and assessments that promote critical thinking and application of psychological concepts.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students on their performance and progress.
  • Maintain office hours to provide academic support and mentorship to students, addressing their individual learning needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance the educational experience, participate in departmental meetings, and contribute to curriculum development as needed.
  • Stay current with developments in the field of psychology and incorporate relevant findings into the classroom.

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Psychology; however, applicants who are ABD or possess a Master’s degree with relevant teaching experience will also be considered.
  • Prior experience as an adjunct instructor is essential, demonstrating a successful track record of teaching and engaging students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse student population.
  • A commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment that respects and values diversity.
  • Fluency in Spanish, preferred
