Who we are looking for:
ACV’s Research and Development team is looking to add a Machine Learning Engineer to expand our capabilities and take on larger initiatives. The ideal candidate is passionate about the automotive industry and has prior experience developing technology using sensor data, acoustics, & imaging. Technology developed within R&D has made its way into the hands of multiple customers within as well as outside of ACV. This role requires a strong understanding of machine learning principles, experience with various ML libraries and tools, and the ability to translate research into production-ready solutions without strict intervention of management. A successful candidate will be able to scope out a project and be able to build out well structured experiments that align with the research proposal and business needs. Being able to adapt and pivot based on findings is paramount as well as openly being able to communicate your results and findings in a thoughtful and cohesive manner.

What you will need:
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Graduate degree in Deep Learning, Machine Learning, or similar computationally-intensive degree. PhD preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Prior experience in research-oriented environments, such as academic labs or R&D departments within companies, is highly valuable.
- Advanced proficiency with Python, SQL etc.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS / GCP) and kubernetes, docker, CI/CD.
- Experience with MLOps-specific tooling like Vertex AI, Feast, Kubeflow, or Weights and Biases, etc. are a plus.
- Proven ability to publish research papers in reputable conferences or journals (e.g. CVPR, NeurIPS, WACV, ICASSP, InterSpeech, DCASE, ICML, ICLR, KDD) demonstrates a strong understanding of the field and ability to contribute original work.
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and techniques (e.g., supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning).
- Extensive knowledge of ML frameworks and libraries. Experience on tree-based algorithms (XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM etc.), and Generalized linear models (GLM) are highly valued.
- Experience in machine learning-based signal processing techniques (e.g. audio classification, supervised and weakly-supervised sound event detection) is required
Compensation: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 annually. Please note that final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant's relevant experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
