Sr. Manager - Business Development, Food Service
The Senior Manager – Business Development, Food Service will lead the growth of our seafood business by identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in the seafood industry and corporate food service segments, coupled with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills. This role is responsible for expanding market presence, developing strategic partnerships, and driving sustainable sales growth with both new and existing clients.
What You Will Do At Acme:
- Conduct in-depth market research to identify trends and growth opportunities in the seafood industry.
- Develop data-driven strategies to expand market share, leveraging insights from customers and market analysis while effectively communicating with internal stakeholders.
- Recruit, manage, and oversee a network of Food Service brokers.
- Analyze food service market intelligence, including national syndicated data, to support expansion and growth efforts; familiarity with Circana and Nielsen preferred.
- Promote current and emerging products to drive new business opportunities and sales growth.
- Generate new business through direct customer engagement, frequent site visits, and extensive networking.
- Lead strategic sales and category management initiatives.
- Prepare regular reports on business development activities, including market analysis, sales performance, and growth opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales account managers, and product development teams to drive success in food service markets.
- Travel as required, including weekends.
- Represent the company at industry events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and build strategic partnerships.
Your Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business administration or related preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing, ideally within the seafood or food manufacturing industry.
- 5+ years of sales leadership experience.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful business strategies and drive revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of seafood supply chain, including distribution and retail.
Your Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and sales abilities.
- Deep understanding of category dynamics to drive food service growth.
- Proficient in analyzing and leveraging syndicated data resources.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or prolonged periods of standing.
Health & Safety Requirements:
- Observe and follow all safety rules.
- Wear required PPE.
- Follow mandated OSHA regulations.
- Report all incidents including near misses immediately.
Compensation Range: $130,000 - $155,000 annually.
*This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
