Position Summary
The Senior Report Developer provides data analysis and reporting support to business users within Access Community Health Network. This role works with specifications from both internal and external users to help clarify their reporting needs and to facilitate their use of Epic Clarity Reporting, Epic Reporting Workbench and ACCESS data warehouse to meet those needs.
Hybrid position - must be able to commute to Chicago office
Core Job Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test and maintain changes, upgrades and fixes to reports using most appropriate report development technology and MS SQL
• Design, develop, test and maintain scheduling of reports/data extracts and distribution.
• Provides cross-training for other report developers
• Develop detailed query design specifications that will be used to document and guide development of data extracts and reports.
• Research and coordinate the resolution of issues related to data and decision support
• Research, coordinate and complete special projects as necessary
• Maintain timely and appropriate written communications/documentation
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation and report inventory for all ACCESS reports and data extracts
• Effectively manage the vendors of licensed applications to efficiently resolve problems and effectively use and maintain reporting applications
• Maintain and promote a set of “best practices” procedures, which follow the ACCESS IS policy and procedures
• Research and incorporate applicable industry standards and regulations into a ACCESS IS policy and procedures
• Collaborates with data warehouse architect around the design and implementation of data warehouse data model and data extracts
• Work with ACCESS report users and Application Analysts to determine reporting requirements based on business needs
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements/Preferences
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration with a minimum of four (4) years of direct work experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics
OR
• A minimum six (6) years of direct analytic work experience in the health care industry including four (4) years of direct work experience in Business Intelligence and Analytics required
• A minimum of four (4) years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (i.e. table creation, views, stored procedures, and population isolations techniques)
• A minimum of four (4) years’ experience with Epic Clarity – Ambulatory, Professional Billing, Tapestry, or Reporting Workbench strongly preferred, other Epic reporting tools a plus
• Demonstrates a strong knowledge of relational database design, models, schemas and practices through presentations of multiple audiences.
• SAP Business Objects, Power BI, SSRS, R, and other data visualization preferred
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products required
