Position Summary
The Research Program Analyst is a member of the Epidemiology and Data Science Unit within the Research, Evaluation, and Innovation Department. This grant-funded position is instrumental in advancing data-driven research and evaluation initiatives. The analyst will design and manage data collection processes, build and maintain databases, and create impactful visualizations and dashboards to support organizational goals. Through statistical analysis, reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders, this role ensures data accuracy and delivers insights that inform decision-making and meet funder requirements.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and enhance project-specific reporting for internal stakeholders and funders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines consistently, and adapt quickly to evolving reporting requirements and methods.
- Build and maintain databases, troubleshoot errors, and adapt data management procedures.
- Establish and automate data quality checks (e.g., CQM, PDSA), feedback loops, and validation processes.
- Conduct statistical analysis, data validation, cleaning, and deduplication.
- Design and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and data collection instruments to support research initiatives.
- Collaborate with (IS) staff to develop reports and datasets from the EPIC electronic health record system.
- Utilize EPIC tools (Slicer/Dicer, Cosmos) for data acquisition and analysis.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for data management procedures, workflows, and codebooks.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements/Preferences
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree in public health, data science, or related field preferred).
- At least 2 years of experience in program evaluation, public health, clinical research, or health care preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing large datasets and working with health care data.
- Advanced proficiency in R/RStudio with at least 3 years of coding experience required.
- Familiarity with SQL, Python, SPSS, SAS, or similar software preferred.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar, with a minimum of 2 years of experience required.
- Demonstrated capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new software tools, strongly preferred.
- Experience working with electronic health records (especially EPIC and Slicer/Dicer) and database applications such as CareWare, SPARS, and REDCap preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
