The Volunteer Manager plays a key role in setting up the systems, policies, and practices for local deployment. This role requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for both our team members, volunteers, and the people we support. This role partners closely with Advancement, Operations, and Corporate leaders.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 4 years of relevant progressive experience in volunteer management.
- Valid Driver's License
- Travels into market according to need.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with all stakeholders to establish the standard operating practices, policies, and systems for local deployment.
- Monitor volunteer performance and provide feedback and guidance as needed.
- Address any issues or conflicts that may arise among volunteers and organizations.
- Design and deliver overall AbleLight orientation programs for new and existing volunteers.
- Provide ongoing training and support to volunteers to ensure they are equipped to fulfill their roles effectively inclusive of required background checks.
- Develop resources and materials to enhance volunteer experience and improve retention and engagement rates.
- Continuously review and refine Standard Operation Practice, Policies, Systems.
- Maintain regular communication with volunteers through newsletters, emails, and occasional meetings.
- Facilitate communication between volunteers, board members and organizations and to ensure coordination and collaboration that benefits those we support.
- Develop and implement recognition programs to acknowledge the contributions of volunteers that are deployed locally.
- Conduct regular check-ins with volunteers and leaders to assess satisfaction and engagement levels.
- Identify opportunities for advancement or additional responsibilities for motivated volunteers.
