Job Summary/General Purpose of Job: 

  • Paid Legal Interns will conduct research and memorialize their findings in writing, generally in the areas of legal education, higher education, and higher education accreditation. 
  • This work will help to inform various aspects of accreditation standards and policy work done by the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar as well as the Section’s governing Council.  

 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with attorneys in the Managing Director’s Office of the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, providing research assistance and creating memos, bibliographies or other work product detailing research findings in the areas of legal education, higher education, and higher education accreditation.  
  • Work independently and with minimal supervision on multiple research projects.
  • Accept and complete assigned projects from multiple attorney staff members, adhering to varying deadlines for multiple projects.

 

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience: 

  • Currently enrolled in a J.D. program at an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and LexisNexis and/or Westlaw.
  • Ability to multitask.

  • Interest in legal education, higher education, or higher education accreditation.
