Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
- The network engineer is responsible for the implementation and management of the network infrastructure. The duty requires the individual to plan, design, implement, provide a high level of support and maintenance to the environment that is on-premises, offsite and in the Cloud. They will need to ensure pristine maintenance of the physical and virtual server instances. The individual must have strong knowledge of the different routing protocols, ACL/firewall policies, SD-WAN, WAP, Web Application firewalls, DHCP, DNS, VOIP/SIP, internet circuits and troubleshooting skills. The duties will also require the individual to be onsite when needed, lift/rack/maintain physical hardware and rotate on-call.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
- Design, Build, Test, Implement, Manage and Maintain the enterprise network infrastructure.
- Monitor, Identify, Diagnose, and Resolve complex network/data issues.
- Design, test, and inspect data communications systems.
- Develop test plans, implementation plans, and project timelines for various projects.
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
- Provide formal corporate communications on directional changes or changes that will impact existing services.
- Provide recommendations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with a minimum of five plus years’ relevant experience; or a high school diploma, certifications, or equivalent with a minimum of eight years’ relevant experience.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform cabling, lifting, racking, or moving heavy equipment.
Extent of Travel Required in the Job
- As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 30% of the time.
