PRODUCT SPECIALIST

BRANDSMART USA – Stockbridge, GA

 

PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Product Specialist pleasantly greets Customers, offers proper information about the products and services offered by BrandsMart USA and BrandsMart Service Company, sells and explains the merchandise and extended service plans; Maintains knowledge of the competition, maintains store displays and assists in taking physical inventories as required. This is a full time, commission, selling position.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Greet Customers

The Product Specialist must greet each customer in such a way as to make the customer feel genuinely welcome.

2. Sell Merchandise

            The Product Specialist must be able to sell and explain the function of any products within the Product Specialists assigned department. May assemble some of the products purchased by the customer when the particular item sold requires assembly or instruction.

3. Sell Extended Service Plans

All Product Specialists are required to sell and accurately explain the service contracts offered by BrandsMart USA.

4. Product Knowledge Training

The Product Specialist is required, as a condition of continued employment, to maintain a high level of product knowledge in his/her assigned department. This includes, but is not limited to, attending training sessions both Company sponsored, and manufacturer sponsored.

5. Basic Job Functions

During periods of an assigned shift when activity does not require the number of salespeople assigned, a Product Specialist may be required to perform a combination of the following functions:

  1. Clean and maintain the selling area or selling counter area using basic cleaning supplies.
  2. Other related Product Specialist duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
  3. Assist with changing, arranging, or straightening a selling display.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

Individuals must possess and be able to demonstrate the following knowledge, abilities and skills necessary to the essential functions of the Product Specialist position, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  1. Ability to read, write and speak English.
  2. Basic math skills, including multiplication, addition, subtraction, and division, necessary to verify amounts and costs of merchandise and quantities as may be required.
  3. Occasionally the ability to grasp, lift or otherwise move goods weighing up to twenty-five pounds.
  4. Sufficient manual dexterity in at least one hand to be able to operate all computer terminals and other electronic equipment and manually complete paperwork such as sales orders, transfers, and customer inquiries.
  5. Ability to stand and continuously perform essential job functions with minimal direct supervision for a complete selling shift.
  6. Ability to learn and perform accurately all essential Product Specialist position functions with minimal direct supervision, within two weeks after an employee begins work.
  7. Knowledge of the Company’s mission, purpose and goals, and the role of the    Product Specialist in achieving them.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

1. Education

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the

required knowledge, skills, and abilities to accurately perform the above requirements.

2. Experience

The position requires a minimum of three years prior experience in the retail industry, preferably in a sales position.

3. Grooming and Appearance

BrandsMart USA seeks to always maintain a neat and professional image. All employees must come to work dressed in appropriate attire and maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

4. Background

 All applicants will be required to pass a criminal history background check

5. Drug Screening

Applicants will be required to take and pass a drug screen prior to employment, and any offer of employment will be withdrawn if there is confirmed positive test result indicating the illegal use of drugs.

 

6. Work Schedule

The Product Specialist is a full-time commission position and is expected to have open availability to work as needed during all store hours.
