Job Summary:
As the Plant Controller, you will oversee daily accounting functions at our plant, including cost and general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets. Your role is critical in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance organizational accounting and financial policies, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close.
- Lead all aspects of the plant’s financial reporting, including monthly presentations to the corporate executive team.
- Partner with management and other functions to develop organizational budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range plans.
- Establish internal controls for monitoring assets, capital investments, controlling costs, and measuring liquidity.
- Manage A/P, A/R, General Accounting, and Fixed Asset Processes for the plant.
- Monitor the financial status of the organization; interpret asset ratios, break-even analysis reports, profit margins, operating costs, and other metrics used in measuring fiscal stability.
- Communicate with operations, sales/marketing, HR, IT, and other departments on matters of budget approval and ROI for specific projects.
- Administer departmental policies and procedures, evaluate results and performance, and assist with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
- Assist in ad hoc analyses of the division's finances and prepare reports to facilitate decision making.
- Administer internal controls and audits of policies and procedures meant to preserve the division's assets.
- Assist internal and/or external auditors with periodic auditing of the plant's financial records, statements, and processes.
- Act as a business partner with the plant leadership team.
- Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of the work area, etc.).
- Follow all Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education:
- In-depth understanding of the field's concepts and principles.
- Ability to perform complex tasks with some latitude for determining appropriate processes to follow.
- Lead and direct the work of other employees.
- Contribute to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the business.
- Establish departmental policies, practices, and procedures that significantly impact the organization.
- Typically require a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, including some prior management experience.
