POSITION SUMMARY

As an integral part of a team, is responsible for continuously and consistent pick up and delivery of all Direct Issue and Warehouse Requisitioned orders from the Receiving/Warehouse Location. To provide professional interactive service with the Chefs, Restaurant Managers and Beverage team to ensure all items are accounted for and placed in designated locations. To communicate important information relative to each location and work with leadership to follow all Health and Safety procedures to ensure highest quality of products are utilized for the internal and external guests.

                                             

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Greet and acknowledge all team members in a pleasant manner
  2. Reports as scheduled for work daily.
  3. Receives daily instructions from Supervisor and Warehouse Manager on orders to be picked up
  4. Prioritize orders by time sensitivity, to include Time and Temperature concern.
  5. Inspects all orders to confirm they are exact as the requisition indicates
  6. Highlights issues regarding expiration, freshness and quality as instructed by Chefs.
  7. Indicated 86’d items and or any substitutes approved by Chef
  8. Delivers all prepared orders (Requisitions) to assigned locations.
  9. Puts all items in an assigned location in Kitchen, Restaurant or Beverage location.
  10. Utilizes the First In First Out process to rotate items so on shelf first get used first.
  11. Assist with keeping all storage areas well organized and clean
  12. Returns empty Warehouse Carts to Warehouse as soon as orders are put away into storage locations.
  13. Practice Safe working practices, exercise proper lifting techniques, do not over lift, do not over push carts, Keep Floor Dry in all areas as needed. Remove Ice and any excess water in all containers prior to placing in storage.
  14. Participate in monthly Safety Training as required.
  15. Complete all requisitions daily.
  16. Communicate with Chef, Managers on all concerns on product and evaluation.
  17. Follow Chef’s instruction for storage placement and standards.
  18. Check In with Warehouse Manager upon arrival to help determine flow of requisitions for the day.
  19. Utilize Clean Mop Bucket and Water/Soap combo to clean areas required after placing goods in storage.
  20. Equipment issued. Thermometer to talk temperature of refrigerated products.
  21. Other Duties as assigned relative to primary role.

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS

Reports To:         Assistant and Executive Steward, Executive Chef

 

Supervises:        No other team members

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  • Any Food and Beverage knowledge helpful

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/SAFETY EQUIPMENT

  • Food Handler’s Card
  • Approved Work Gloves

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests.
  • Ensure familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions and activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.
  • Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and can multi-task.
  • Ability to always maintain positive guest relations.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to move equipment as needed
  • Ability to exert effort in transporting supplies and equipment (10-50 pounds) from the storeroom.
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours throughout work shift.
  • Maintain stationary position for ½ hour throughout work shift.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
