As Nail Technician, is an integral part of a team and responsible for continuously looking for ways to improve each guest’s experience from providing exceptional service from the point of arrival, to being involved in the operation of the spa according to Halekulani standards.  He or she must be knowledgeable of the Salon industry and trends, Halekulani Salon and Spa facilities, services and products, hotel property, events, and surrounding areas.  He or she must also strive to exceed guest expectations.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.       Adhere to Halekulani Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment

2.       Provide professional nail services, in a manner consistent with Halekulani service standards

3.       Provide all guests with consistent quality service through the entire shift (up to an eight-hour period)

4.       Able to provide all anil services provided at the Salon

5.       Adhere to all hotel, spa policies and procedures

6.       Uphold the Halekulani services and technical standards

7.       Willing to learn and perform new beauty services offered at the Spa when training is provided

8.       Provide professional Salon services (in accordance with accepted industry practices) and consistent manner at Spa

9.       Provide all guests with consistent services even when booked by the hour for up to an eight-hour period

10.   Perform all services according to guest request, Salon protocol, with skill, proficiency, and a gracious manner

11.   Begin services at the time appointments are scheduled and perform all services within the time frame established for each service given

12.   Exhibit proper use of product while maintaining a clean and safe work environment                                

13.   Read and adhere to schedule postings regarding shifts, room assignments, and SpaSoft reservations

14.   Cooperate with fellow team members, at the Spa and within the various hotel departments

15.   Practice the Halekulani Groom Standard in terms of appearance, throughout shift                    

16.   Attend all mandatory Salon meetings

17.   Maintain positive relations with all Halekulani and Halepuna department

 

 

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS


Reports To:         Salon & Skincare Supervisor and/or Director of Spa & Wellness

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • A minimum of 350 hours of beauty training along with the required number of hours for apprenticeship in the state of Hawaii

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Hawaii State License for Beauty Services and/or Cosmetology

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to provide exceptional nail care and design
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs; respond promptly and acknowledge all guests
  • Knowledge of hotel events, outlets, and hours of operation
  • High organized, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn and perform specific Salon services being offered at Spa when training is provided
  • Possesses time management skills

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours throughout work shift
  • Maintain stationary position for up 120 minutes throughout each treatment during work shift
  • Ability to perform various movements throughout the work areas
