Global Industry Manager - Hard Rock Mining or Cement/Aggregate Industries
Location: Remote – United States
Flexco is seeking a Global Industry Manager for either the hard rock mining or cement and aggregate industries. This role will be in supporting our heavy-duty business, performing a critical leadership role within the Flexco organization.
Their in-depth customer, application, and industry knowledge allows them to quantify current and future sales opportunities so that they are able to develop industry-based global strategic plans for long-term sustainable and profitable growth for Flexco.
The Global Industry Manager will be responsible for strategic plan development and deployment, leading the ’Customer Desirability’ and VOC gathering for new product development, and transferring industry and application knowledge to sales, marketing, and engineering personnel to create products/programs for sales growth, and development of marketing communication program and collateral materials.
Flexco is currently only reviewing candidates that meet the minimum qualifications, including prior industry experience.
A Global Industry Manager can expect a starting compensation of between $115,000.00 and $145,000.00, depending on experience and skills.

What you will need:
- A bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field is required, and an MBA is preferred.
- 7 – 10 years of marketing experience in the industrial sector.
- 5+ years’ working experience in assigned industry segment applications
- Industrial experience preferred.
- International marketing experience preferred.
- Experience in distribution sales preferred.
- Willingness to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
- Willingness and comfort to perform industrial and possibly underground duties.
- Ability to lead the development and deployment of strategic plans without direct authority
- Must have enthusiasm/engagement for the product, industry, and company.
- Must be a highly analytical and strategic thinker, comfortable with calculated risks and change management.
- Outstanding project management skills; leading multiple projects with the ability to thrive in high-pressure, time-sensitive scenarios.

- Identifies the Industries that provide the most significant opportunities for Flexco sales growth through extensive customer visits, monitoring market trends, and quantifying the Flexco opportunity. Gathers, assembles and analyzes industry data to select the industries Flexco will focus on.
- Develops and leads industry Hambrick strategies that provide a roadmap to organizational success for sales and services directed to and/or created for the industry of focus. The industry Hambrick influences the direction of the product Hambrick by creating the conduit between customer needs and the Flexco solution.
- Works with the Business Unit Director to identify the sales and marketing staffing needs required to realize the full sales opportunity presented by the industry.
Develop deep Industry and Application Knowledge and transfer knowledge to the Flexco Organization
- Engages in deep industry research through immersion, continual industry exposure, multi-media research, and interviewing industry members.
- The Industry Manager develops content to educate the entire organization on the industry of focus, with primary attention paid to the global sales, marketing, and engineering departments. Examples Include customer-facing literature pieces.
- The Industry Manager adapts current or creates new customer-facing literature pieces with messaging that will resonate with the target industry.
- The Industry Manager develops tools that Strategic Account Managers can clearly articulate to sell the real value that Flexco solutions provide in the form of Flexco Accumulating Value (FAV) calculators and similar ROI assessments.
- The global Industry Managers regularly communicate, assist, and lead, when applicable, activities and communications with the person(s) responsible for Industry Management at the subsidiary locations. This may include industry market training and industry application training.
New Product Development
- Human-centered design (HCD) principles are categorized under Customer Desire, Technical Feasibility, and Business Viability. The Industry Manager leads/owns the Customer Desire phase and is a heavy contributor to the Business Viability phase led/owned by the Product Manager.
- Through extensive application visits and industry engagement, the industry manager is uniquely positioned to provide deep customer insights. He has developed relationships with key market influencers to gather robust Voice of Customer (VOC). The Industry Manager then uses this VOC to define the customer requirements and quantify the opportunity for new product development. The industry manager is also responsible for gathering and consolidating input from others to determine customer Desirableness.
- During new product development meetings, the Industry Manager provides input as the customer's voice. Additionally, the Industry Manager assists with gathering VOC for prototype concepts and field testing.
- Takes an active role in the new product development opportunity scoring activities, providing insights into the true customer need and probability of purchasing the Flexco-designed solution. Will identify and share potential customer roadblocks to widespread adoption.
Provides Industry-Based Sales Targets and Support
- The Industry Manager provides global sales with a list of target accounts, including Flexco opportunity potential, target company titles/positions, and complete contact details when available.
- The Industry Manager works closely with the Strategic Account Managers by identifying the companies within the industry with the largest Flexco “wallet” projection and offering potential strategic focus in sales.
- The Industry Manager works with Strategic Account Managers and Territory Managers to identify customers within the industry to target for throughput improvement activities such as waste walks and general conveyor surveys.
- The Industry Manager engages with key customers and market influencers; sometimes, they are the primary Flexco contact.
Development and Leading of Industry Marketing Communication Program:
- The industry manager identifies industry associations that Flexco will benefit from joining and takes the lead in cultivating relationships within the association to generate interest and additional opportunities for Flexco solutions. This includes the current product solutions and identifying potential new product opportunities.
- The Industry Manager actively reviews and selects trade shows in target industries where Flexco will have a booth presence. They will work with subsidiary locations to identify the best trade show opportunities to exhibit for their respective industry targets.
- The Industry Manager is heavily involved with trade show organization and all customer-facing marketing activities, both pre- and post-show, providing industry-targeted messaging guidance for the Marketing Communications team.
- The Industry Manager works with the Marketing Communication Department to help create and review industry-facing literature, social media content, and other messaging.
