Our Commercial Credit Card APIs provide robust solutions for card issuance, transaction management, and real-time authorization capabilities. This role involves working closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and engineering teams to deliver and upgrade APIs that address market needs and align with Corpay’s broader goals.

The Product Manager will oversee the lifecycle of our APIs, ensuring that they meet the requirements of our partners across various industries, including ticket brokers, automotive, construction, and ERP solution providers.  New API features we are looking to build include:

  • Accounts Payable
    • Upgrade to payment creation features (from batch file process to API)
    • Payment status webhook (e.g., payment approved, funds sent, payment cleared)
    • Supplier lookup & matching to a specific payment method
  • Commercial Credit Card
    • Automated account setup for new Card customers
    • Dispute functionality & underlying system
    • 24/7 bank balance monitoring for underwriting

Key Responsibilities:

API Product Management:

  • Define and execute the product roadmap for Corpay’s API suite, including Card APIs and Webhooks, and Accounts Payable APIs and Webhooks.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure APIs meet partner needs, are scalable, and deliver optimal performance.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of API development, from ideation through launch and continuous improvement.
  • Advocate for API best practices, usability, and consistent design principles, such as clear versioning strategies, intuitive error handling, and standardized authentication methods.
  • Align API offerings with the broader strategy to increase revenue and transaction volume by enabling seamless integrations for partners.

Partner Collaboration:

  • Engage with internal and external partners to understand their business needs and use cases for our APIs.
  • Translate partner feedback into actionable product enhancements.
  • Support partners in integrating our APIs, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.

    • Integration Complexity: Simplify the integration process to align with partners' roadmaps and priorities.
    • Documentation Gaps: Provide comprehensive and user-friendly documentation, including Postman-like tools, to facilitate independent testing and planning.
    • Lack of Self-Service Options: Develop self-service tools for partners to build and test integrations independently, reducing reliance on Corpay resources.

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Stay informed about market trends, competitive products, and industry needs.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and expand the Corpay API portfolio to address emerging market demands.
  • Incorporate potential partner feedback, such as:
    • Preference for Open API integrations with real-time data access and standardized documentation.
    • Modernizing batch file management to provide seamless API-based solutions.
    • Delivering real-time visibility into Corpay payment processes through decisioning and execution webhooks.
  • Recognize the need for significant improvement in Full AP services and align resources to address these gaps effectively.

Cross-functional Leadership:

  • Work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, and support teams to drive the successful launch and adoption of API products.
  • Develop and deliver training materials, product documentation, and partner communication plans.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance positioning and awareness of Corpay's Card and Full AP services in the market.

Metrics and Reporting:
