• This is an off campus Federal Work Study Position.

Innovation DuPage (ID) is a community built around the needs of startups, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. As a business incubator and accelerator we provide access to an extensive network of partners, mentors, investors, and have the resources and expertise needed for companies to build from the ground up. Our signature programs are designed to quickly take businesses to the next level, and are led by industry professionals. Our work advances the entrepreneurial ecosystem, grows the regional economy, and is defined by the successes of those we serve.

Innovation DuPage is looking for a Public Relations student intern that will assist in raising awareness of the success stories, events, and economic impact that ID is serving to its community.

The hourly rate is $15.00 - $17.00 depending on experience. This internship role is hybrid and the on-site work location is Glen Ellyn Civic Center, 535 Duane Street Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.

  • Increase brand awareness for Innovation DuPage and our members, partners, and programs

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with local media contacts

  • Create and pitch press releases

  • Assist in the creation and execution of an Innovation DuPage newsletter

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Ability to work in an individual and group setting
  • Storytelling

Internship Schedule

Approximately 25 hours per week during business hours

Internship Location
Remote, but we encourage you to come into the coworking space once per week.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.   • Must be an enrolled student.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, motivated individuals.
  • People who sit around, waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment.
