Opportunity:
DeVry University is seeking a Sr. Manager, Social Media Marketing to lead the transformation of our social media presence. This critical role will reimagine how DeVry utilizes social media to drive audience engagement, amplify key initiatives, and support broader marketing campaigns.
The Sr. Manager will spearhead innovative social strategies to enhance DeVry’s reputation, connect meaningfully with target audiences, and showcase our mission in action. The ideal candidate is a creative leader who thrives on leveraging social platforms to spark engagement, tell compelling stories, and measure meaningful results.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Reimagine and Drive Social Media Strategy
- Redefine Social Presence: Reimagine DeVry’s approach to social media, emphasizing engagement, innovation, and alignment with brand goals.
- Engagement-First Strategy: Develop strategies that utilize social channels as dynamic engagement tools to support broader marketing campaigns.
- Trend Leadership: Monitor emerging social trends and identify opportunities to position DeVry as a thought leader and innovator in higher education.
2. Content Oversight and Campaign Engagement
- Content Leadership: Oversee the creation, curation, and publication of platform-specific content that drives engagement and resonates with target audiences.
- Campaign Support: Leverage social channels to drive engagement and amplify awareness for broader marketing initiatives, ensuring measurable contributions to campaign goals.
- Creative Innovation: Experiment with new content formats, storytelling techniques, and interactive features to maximize audience interaction.
3. Social Boosting and Performance Optimization
- Boosted Content Management: Strategically manage the boosting of posts to expand reach and engagement for key initiatives.
- Performance Analytics: Use data-driven insights to determine which posts to boost, optimize strategies, and maximize ROI.
- Vendor Partnerships: Collaborate with external partners as necessary to ensure effective execution of boosting strategies.
4. Community Management and Engagement
- Platform Oversight: Lead community management to foster meaningful conversations, respond to inquiries, and build strong relationships with followers.
- Engagement Strategy: Create strategies that deepen audience connections and encourage two-way communication across platforms.
- Crisis Management: Proactively monitor and address issues in the social space to protect and enhance DeVry’s reputation.
5. Trending@DeVry Employee Advocacy Program
- Program Expansion: Oversee and grow Trending@DeVry, empowering employees to amplify DeVry’s message through their personal networks.
- Training and Resources: Develop engaging materials and host workshops to help employees become confident advocates.
- Impact Measurement: Analyze program metrics and continuously refine strategies to drive greater participation and impact.
6. Live Virtual Events
- Event Planning: Organize and execute live virtual events, such as LinkedIn Live sessions, to highlight DeVry’s expertise and foster professional connections.
- Execution Excellence: Oversee event logistics, content development, and promotion to ensure high-impact outcomes.
7. Performance Measurement and Reporting
- Analytics Leadership: Monitor and analyze the performance of social media efforts, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Comprehensive Reporting: Deliver regular reports on engagement metrics, campaign support contributions, and overall social media effectiveness.
- Continuous Improvement: Use insights to refine strategies, experiment with new approaches, and drive ongoing growth and engagement.
8. Leadership and Collaboration
- Collaborative Leadership: Partner with cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with larger goals and ensure cohesive messaging.
- Team Development: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Social Advocacy: Serve as DeVry’s in-house expert on social media, sharing best practices and training stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications in digital marketing or social media strategy a plus.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in social media marketing, with a proven track record of driving engagement and strategy execution for mid-to-large-scale brands.
- Demonstrated success in utilizing social media to support broader marketing campaigns and business objectives.
- Expertise in leveraging social boosting strategies and optimizing them through performance analytics.
Technical Expertise
- Proficient in social media management platforms such as Sprinklr, Hootsuite, Social Studio, or similar tools.
- Advanced knowledge of key platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok) and their unique capabilities.
- Experience with analytics tools for tracking and reporting social media performance.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to mentor team members and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive initiatives from concept to completion.
