Work Hours: Tuesday and Thursday from 4PM - 6PM

 
RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Community:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Math Tutor to join our team and provide personalized academic support to students. The Tutor will be responsible for helping students understand and master course material, improve their grades, and develop effective study habits. The ideal candidate is patient, communicates effectively, and is passionate about education.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in Math.
  • Assess students' strengths and weaknesses to tailor lessons to their needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans.
  • Assist with homework, test preparation, and study techniques.
  • Track and report on students' progress and adjust tutoring strategies as needed.
  • Communicate with students, parents, and teachers to understand the students' academic goals.
  • Stay updated on curriculum changes and exam requirements in the relevant subjects.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Below are the minimum requirements of the education, experience, knowledge, and skills required to competently perform in this position.   • Must be an enrolled student.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a current student in good standing and possess a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of six credits per semester.
  • FWS fund eligible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed, motivated individuals.
  • People who sit around, waiting to be told what to do will not do well in this environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the subject matter you will be tutoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards helping students succeed.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students in the learning process.
  • Familiarity with different learning styles and strategies to accommodate them.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to tutor in multiple subjects.
