FS/QA Technician

What you will do:
The FS/QA Technician ensures compliance with FDA, customer, DO&CO Food Safety and HACCP plans. In this role, the FS/QA Technician ensures that we are producing all products according to customer specifications along with maintaining our facility food safety, Halal, and hygiene control standards.
A day as a FS/QA Technician:
- Pre-operational checks, operational checks, and post-operational checks, temperature checks, cooler/freezer checks thermometer calibration, sanitizer checks
- Verification of cleaning activities of third-party cleaning company
- Responds to questions regarding food safety processes
- reinforce GMP best practices by completing regular floor walks and self-audits
- Escalates non-compliance to the Hygiene & Quality Assurance Manager, and Department manager and follow up on timely corrective action
- Conducts regular traceability audits, regular lab collections, and regular swabs for testing
- Ensures quality assurance and product/food safety and regulatory compliance, adhering to local, state, federal, international environmental, health and food safety regulations
- Provides support before/at customer audits, health department inspections, training and consultations and ensures employees understand and comply with applicable standards
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Bilingual Spanish speaking is highly desired
- 3 years of experience in a food processing facility, hospitality, high paced catering establishment with floor monitoring
- Food Safety and Quality Assurance knowledge
- Good computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge in HACCP, ISO, and food safety systems
- Food Safety Certification, including but not limited to SafeServ training
- HACCP Certified preferred
