Director, Architecture & Planning - Development

Summary:

Cosm is looking for a highly skilled & dynamic leader to craft and execute Venue Architecture & Design that elevates the Cosm brand to deliver measurable results for all our current and future Cosm Venues. This role will be responsible for driving the design & planning process across our Venue enterprise. Through design excellence and creative collaboration, this key role will ensure that Cosm achieves our business objectives and develops a strong, unparalleled experience across markets. The individual will be responsible for driving new venue design (domestic and global) while leading the overall architectural and planning process within Cosm.

Tasked with developing a robust design and project management team, this role will continue to grow in scope and include additional opportunities to help grow the business both domestic and international.

This role requires leveraging previous expertise in sports & hospitality to craft compelling experiences and deliver value that exceeds expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead new venue design efforts domestic and globally for Cosm.
• Manage the overall business relationship between consultant partners and Cosm.
• Work with leaders and stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Take an active role in the key category development and venue ideation for Cosm.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire teammates, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Investigate and implement cutting-edge technologies, including AI tools, to enhance design strategies, improve engagement, and drive excellence.
• Collaborate to develop and implement design strategies that exceed goals, ensuring the retention and growth of venue development.
• Work closely with internal department heads to align strategies with Venue’s goals and maximize venue revenue opportunities.
• Attend weekly meetings with senior-level executives and provide routine project updates.
• Strong tolerance for ambiguity, and ability to produce & present multi-venue design opportunities.
• Willingness to travel as needed for design meetings and site visits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines.
• Oversee all phases of the design process, from initial concept development to final construction closeout.
• Establish and maintain Venue design standards and best practices.

Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience in architectural design and project management.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects from concept to completion.
• Strong design sensibility and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively address challenges in the field.
• Licensure in architecture is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in hospitality and sports design
