Wastewater Treatment Operator
Summary:
This position performs skilled, semi-skilled, technical, and manual labor involving equipment preventative maintenance and process operations of wastewater treatment facilities and other utility facilities.
Responsibilities:
Treatment/Utility Operator activities includes the use of computer technology, sampling and laboratory analysis, operation of heavy equipment and vehicles, plant equipment, and field equipment. This position requires 12-hour rotating shift work. Must be willing and able to work Nights, Days, Weekends, and Holidays and respond to emergencies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Training in water/wastewater treatment operations (or equivalent knowledge of biology, chemistry, or a related field), mechanical systems, or equipment maintenance is preferred. Although no experience is required, preferred candidate will have one to two years of responsible experience in wastewater operation as well as basic knowledge of mathematic principles and computer-controlled systems. The successful candidate must pass the background check, post-offer City physical and drug screen.
