Split Case Expeditor

Job Overview

This is a role within the distribution center of Simon & Schuster, a 100-year-old company with offices around the world, that is also the only US owned book publishing house. In this role you will be responsible for the Expeditor Position in our Split Case Department.

What you will be doing on a daily basis

• Ensures all daily orders are completed on time.
• Collaborates with other departments to guarantee sufficient stock for required cartons.
• Maintains information on scheduled orders for better efficiency and to avoid delays.
• Monitors designated "waves" throughout the day to ensure all cartons are finished for each shipment.
• Works with the supervisor and team lead to prepare work for the next shift.
• Handles priority orders, rushes, and specific order types.

Some requirements:

• You must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. 
• You must have careful attention to detail and strong communication skills
  Some analytical experience is preferable
  You must have the ability to stand for up to 8 hours/day
  
• Experience operating a Pallet Jack.

Shift and Schedule:

• Our distribution facility operates in 3 shifts and this particular role is part of the afternoon shift, working Sunday- Thursday (9:00 PM – 5:00 AM).  There is an opportunity for overtime as well.
