Simon & Schuster UK’s Adult Editorial is looking for non-commissioning Editorial Director to join their non-fiction team on a fixed term maternity cover. Reporting to the Deputy Publishing Director, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to project manage a variety of books through the editorial process.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for structural and line editing, communicating effectively with authors and agents, editorial responsibilities such as writing copy and briefing jackets, and working closely with members of the wider business to project manage the publication of high profile titles.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a serious non-fiction team, and have dealt with high profile authors and their agents. They will need demonstrable experience in editing bestselling non-fiction, an understanding of the non-fiction landscape and an exceptionally high standard of author care. They will have in-house experience of overseeing the entire publishing process of a book, from manuscript to publication.
