Simon & Schuster Canada is seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Marketing Associate to develop and execute title-specific marketing campaigns on a wide variety of books and author brands, and support our company’s digital strategy. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the ideal candidate will be an imaginative, highly detail-oriented, proactive, collaborative, and strategic professional who can multi-task, set priorities, and manage a multitude of complex projects within budget and on tight timelines. Simon & Schuster Canada is currently working in a flexible/hybrid work model, and candidates must be within commuting distance of Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Create, develop, and execute integrated marketing campaigns for key titles and author brands across Simon & Schuster Canada’s domestic and international lists.
  • Communicate detailed campaign updates directly to authors, editors, publicists, and sales teams.
  • Support our team’s digital marketing initiatives including but not limited to email marketing, content marketing, and social media strategy and execution.
  • Participate in the planning and preparation for all seasonal conference meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across various departments – including marketing, editorial and sales – and external partners.
  • Contribute to seasonal and themed marketing campaigns.
  • Provide marketing support for retailers, supporting promotions.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, events and festivals as needed.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed, supporting the company’s strategic goals and editorial vision.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of hands-on marketing experience, preferably in a publishing environment.
  • Excellent project management, communication, organizational, prioritization and presentation skills.
  • Experienced in using all major social media platforms, with the ability to create and manage social media copy, content, and content calendars effectively.
  • Demonstrate a strong aptitude for digital marketing and online engagement.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills, with the ability to adapt your voice for both the channel and the audience.
  • Willingness to experiment and think creatively about book marketing.
  • And of course, a passion for books!
